Swimming with sea turtles is another special experience in Mauritius and is highly recommended for all ages. The boat ride to the turtle area is short and usually calm, making it a comfortable excursion for most travellers. Along the way, you may also see a variety of unique marine life, including colourful fish and other sea creatures that are not usually found in shallow waters.

While no operator can guarantee a turtle sighting, in most cases guests do encounter at least one.

Tip: Listen carefully to the skipper, as the boats often communicate with each other about where turtles have been spotted. It is also worth being patient in the water, as turtles sometimes appear only after a bit of waiting. Since this is open sea, sightings can never be guaranteed.
